It is a process weaning out the GMO’s from our diets but it
can be done with a little education and support. I myself am working on clearing my pantry of
some of these GMO’s but it is all a process.
Here is a list and a few links (I will be adding
more) of foods that may be GMO’s and brands that are not Non-GMO’s. I hope this helps many.
INFO on GMO’s
1. Vegetable Oil, Canola Oil, Corn Oil, Cottonseed Oil,
(most likely to be GMO, unless it says organic)
2. Vegetable Oil is nothing more than soy
3. Soy (is GMO)
4. Margarine is almost always Soy
5. Most processed foods contain GMO derivatives
6. Avoid processed foods with soy and corn derivatives,
including: soy flour, soy protein, soy lecithin, textured vegetable protein,
corn meal, corn syrup, dextrose, maltodextrin, fructose, citric acid, and
lactic acid.
7. A lot of prepared foods such as salad dressings, bread,
and mayonnaise, and sugar from GM sugar beets.
8. Dairy products from cows treated with genetically
modified rbGH, in U.S.
9. Sweeteners such as aspartame (NutraSweet® or Equal®),
which is genetically modified. Aspartame is found in a lot of chewing gum &
diet beverage.
11. Soybean - Soy foods including, soy beverages, tofu, soy oil, soy flour, lecithin. Other products may include breads, pastries, snack foods, baked products, fried products, edible oil products and special purpose foods.

13. Tomatoes
14. Corn - Corn oil, flour, sugar or syrup. May include snack foods, baked goods, fried foods, edible oil products, confectionery, special purpose foods, and soft drinks.
15. Sweet corn
16. Potatoes - (Atlantic, Russett Burbank, Russet Norkatah, and Shepody) - May include snack foods, processed potato products and other processed foods containing potatoes.
17. Vitamins - Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is often made from corn, vitamin E is usually made from soy. Vitamins A, B2, B6, and B12 may be derived from GMOs as well as vitamin D and vitamin K may have "carriers" derived from GM corn sources, such as starch, glucose, and maltodextrin.
18. Most Hawaiian papayas are GM, also
a small amount of zucchini and yellow squash
19. Food additives, enzymes, flavorings, and processing
agents, including rennet used to make hard cheeses, can be GM, and harder to
avoid.
20. Meat, eggs, and other dairy products from animals that have
eaten GM feed, unless fed 100% grass-fed, or wild caught. Honey and bee pollen
may have sources of GM.
21. Farm Raised Salmon

GM Ingredients:
Cereals, crackers, cookies, chocolate, candy, Infant formula,
hamburgers and hotdogs, margarine, mayonnaise, fried food, chips, salad
dressing, bread, cereal, veggie burgers, meat substitutes, tofu, tamari, soy
sauce, soy cheese, tomato sauce, protein powder, baking powder, alcohol,
vanilla, ice cream, frozen yogurt, powdered sugar, peanut butter, enriched
flour and pasta.
